This was our first trip together without anyone else and it felt a little bit weird to go but everything went just fine. Already on the way to Cambodia I noticed that people are very friendly when you travel alone with a child (especially men ;))
We landed smoothly to Siem Reap and a driver was waiting us at the airport for taking us to our villa. As soon as we arrived we unpacked our things and went straight to the pool for swim and of course we couldn't resist the call of the pool bar...
After swimming we decided to have dinner in the villa before going to Phare- Cambodian Circus. Circus gives under privileged children an education and possibility to work in the sircus and earn a living.
The evening was great: young athletics and actors performing acrobatics, dance and music and all this for a good cause. We highly recommend this one if you ever go to Siem Reap. :)
We spent one day at the temples in Angkor Wat area which was fine for us. In one day we had time to see all the main temples: Angkor Wat, Ta Promh (Tomb Raider was filmed there) and Bayon. I had booked the tour in advance from Pin Vannak-private tours. Mr. Ray was our guide and we couldn't have been more satisfied with him. He knew history well, his English was good and he knew all the best places where to take pictures. I really can recommend him. Perhaps I need to get some commission for all my recommendations. ;)

The last day we were just roaming around in the city and relaxing in the pool.

We did some responsible shopping thanks to my son which was of course a good thing. He has learned in the school about child labour, migrant workers, bad work circumstances etc. so we skipped all the cheap market areas. I have to say that I'm proud of my son. He is more clever than me :).
Enjoy the fresh air when you can!

Tiina
